The Washington Redskins tried to do what they could on Monday to convince Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Amari Cooper to sign with the team once free agency opens on Wednesday.
It didn’t work.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cooper agreed to terms on a five-year, $100 million deal to re-sign with the Cowboys. There is not yet word on how much guaranteed money is in the contract, but it averages out to approximately $20 million per season for the young wide receiver.
Now, after the Buffalo Bills traded a heap of draft picks to the Minnesota Vikings for WR Stefon Diggs, the Redskins are without their top two options at wide receiver as well.
Free agency doesn’t even officially start until Wednesday, but it feels like the Redskins are already playing from behind.
