Report: Redskins have no plans to trade for Josh Rosen

Many around the NFL believe the Arizona Cardinals will select Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray with the first overall pick in the draft, thus leading to a trade of last year’s first-round pick, quarterback Josh Rosen. The team many felt made the most sense was the Washington Redskins.

And while there have been no reports of the Cardinals having officially made Rosen available for trade, some believed there was perhaps a deal agreed to between the two teams that was thus far unreported.

That is not the case, says ESPN’s Dianna Russini.

Russini reported Wednesday Washington “does not have any plans to trade with the Cardinals.”

The more interesting comment was that the Cardinals could keep Rosen on the roster even if they draft Murray.

That doesn’t make any sense, as it would most certainly cause a rift in the locker room.

Other teams still could be in the mix for a Rosen trade, but the Cardinals might wait until right before the draft to engage those talks.

In less than 24 hours, we will know who the Cardinals’ pick is. A for Rosen’s future, maybe that will not be the case.
