Report: Redskins have at least one offer on the table for Trent Williams

Let the bidding war commence.

Earlier Monday, a report broke suggesting the Washington Redskins would be open to trading left tackle Trent Williams, the former Pro Bowler still embroiled in a holdout.

Now, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, there is at least one offer on the table: “The Redskins have told other teams they have a second-round pick on the table for LT Trent Williams. So it appears they’re holding out for a first-rounder.”

General speculation in the past has linked Williams and the Redskins to the Cleveland Browns, but the struggles of the team there might make that unlikely, or at least reduce what the AFC team is willing to pay.

Either way, don’t expect the Redskins to pull the trigger on a second-round pick just yet. The team has plenty of time to attempt to drive up the price even more as tackle-needy teams get antsy as the deadline nears.

In other words, strap in and enjoy the ride that probably won’t end until Tuesday afternoon right at the buzzer.
