Report: Redskins ‘explored’ moving into draft’s top 5

The Washington Redskins might have eyes on getting in front of an NFC East rival by moving into the top five of the 2019 NFL draft.

Mere hours after a report suggested Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins is Washington’s top target, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo followed by revealing the Redskins have sniffed around moving into the top five.

This, of course, would slot the Redskins in front of the New York Giants at No. 6. Speculation has suggested those Giants have been linked to Haskins throughout the process.

Such a move would be incredibly costly, though not too long ago, the Redskins did a similar gamble by moving up to get Robert Griffin.

The rumors here align with what many fans speculated after Redskins owner Dan Snyder reshuffled the front office after the season, ripping out some of the new staff on the business side and keeping Bruce Allen in place.

If Snyder and Allen are at the controls, any move, regardless of how costly, could be in play.
