Report: Redskins bringing in free-agent OT Donald Penn for visit

The Washington Redskins might bring on some outside help to address the problem at offensive tackle.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Redskins are bringing on veteran free agent Donald Penn for a visit.

Penn, 36, spent the last five seasons in Oakland before receiving minimal interest after his March release, which was for cap purposes. He’s strictly depth at this point after struggling before an injury in 2018.

The Redskins need the camp bodies though with Trent Williams holding out and sophomore Geron Christian still coming along slowly after tearing ligaments in his knee.

If the Redskins make the signing official, Penn will likely rotate in with Ereck Flowers on the left edge during camp practices.
