Report: Redskins and Adrian Peterson are ironing out the details of a contract

The Washington Redskins are indeed working on a new contract for running back Adrian Peterson.

Earlier in the week rather vague news about the two sides talking broke. Now we know more, with both sides still trying to iron out numbers:

For the Redskins, Peterson is a low-risk investment who can come back and mentor Derrius Guice while complementing Chris Thompson.

At 33 years old and reliant on the right scheme to need his skill set, Peterson likely wasn’t going to go for a big deal in free agency considering this year’s class features names like Mark Ingram.

From the sounds of it, the two sides will have this transaction done sooner as opposed to later.
