Report: Ravens work out free agent OLB Dekoda Watson

The Baltimore Ravens’ biggest issues on defense seem to stem from the play of their outside linebackers. Starters Matthew Judon and Pernell McPhee have played well, but Baltimore simply doesn’t have much quality depth at the position after seeing Terrell Suggs and Za’Darius Smith leave in free agency.

Through four weeks, the problem isn’t getting any better. Tyus Bowser and Tim Williams continue to struggle to set the edge against the run and they’ve failed to get to the quarterback. Through four games, Bowser is the only one to have pressured the quarterback, notching two quarterback hits and one sack. Both Bowser and Williams have been called out both in the offseason and now the regular season for their lackluster play.

The Ravens are now looking for some help, working out former San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos outside linebacker Dekoda Watson.

Watson has been productive when he’s been on the field. Though he only played in four games last season for the 49ers, Watson had two sacks and four quarterback hits in 61 defensive snaps. This offseason, the Broncos traded a fifth-round pick to San Francisco for Watson but cut him as they trimmed down to their 53-man roster.
