Report: Ravens work out former Steelers LB Jon Bostic

Almost as soon as the Pittsburgh Steelers made the move to draft linebacker Devin Bush, Jon Bostic became expendable. And the Steelers wasted no time is releasing him just days after. It would seem now, according to a report by NFL writer Jeff Zrebiec, Bostic is working out for the Baltimore Ravens and could stay in the AFC North.

Bostic was signed to a two-year contract during the 2018 offseason in an attempt to replace Ryan Shazier. This was a tall task for any linebacker and while Bostic played well, his lack of overall speed and athleticism showed. Bostic finished 2018 with 73 total tackles and 2.5 sacks.

It is always unfortunate when a former player joins a rival so should Bostic sign with the Ravens, Pittsburgh would have to face him twice a year. Bostic was no Shazier but he’s a smart, experienced player and a sure tackler.
