Report: Ravens are front-runners for RB Mark Ingram

The Baltimore Ravens are looking to upgrade their running back depth chart this offseason. Expected to be going with a run-heavy scheme in 2019 to pair with quarterback Lamar Jackson, Baltimore doesn’t seem to be interested in having just Gus Edwards and Kenneth Dixon as their proven running backs.

So far, the Ravens are in the running for former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell as well as former New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram. Baltimore is leading the way on Ingram as of right now during the NFL’s legal tampering period, according to Josh Katzenstein of the Times-Picayune.

Of the two players the Ravens are showing interest in at running back, Ingram would likely be the cheaper option. Given Baltimore’s usual strategy in free agency of finding value players, Ingram seems to be more in line with how the Ravens typically operate.

While not the primary threat at running back for the Saints, Ingram has been a part of a multi-headed attack similar to what Baltimore is expected to use in 2019. Ingram rushed 138 times for 645 yards and six touchdowns in 2018 for New Orleans. He added 21 receptions for 170 yards and another touchdown.
