Rams, Jared Goff agree to 4-year, $134M contract extension

The Los Angeles Rams have said for months that they’re waiting until next year to sign Jared Goff to a contract extension. They have accelerated the timeline and agreed to terms on a new contract with their quarterback.

Goff’s extension will pay him $134 million over the four years, which comes out to $33.5 million per season. That ties him with Aaron Rodgers as the third-highest paid quarterback in the league, behind only Ben Roethlisberger and Russell Wilson.

The Rams announced the extension on Twitter, sharing the news that they’ve agreed to terms on a new deal.

Goff receives a huge payday two years before he was set to hit free agency. He was previously under contract through 2020, but this new deal extends him through the following four years.

It includes a record $110 million in guaranteed money, which is the most in NFL history.

Last season, Goff helped lead the Rams to the Super Bowl after throwing 32 touchdown passes and only 12 interceptions.
