Report: Rams grant Bengals permission to interview Aubrey Pleasant

The trend of teams poaching coaches from the Los Angeles Rams may not be over just yet. With Zac Taylor being the Bengals’ new head coach, he’s attempting to steal a member of Sean McVay’s staff.

The Bengals requested permission to interview cornerbacks coach Aubrey Pleasant for their defensive coordinator vacancy this week, and that request was granted by McVay, according to Vincent Bonsignore of The Athletic.

Pleasant has been with the Rams for the last two years after following McVay from the Redskins to L.A. He doesn’t have any defensive coordinator experience, but Taylor worked with him the last two years and clearly thinks highly of him.

Since last offseason, the Rams have lost several coaches to other teams. Taylor left this offseason after Matt LaFleur and Greg Olson also took jobs elsewhere last year. Pleasant could be the latest coach on the move.
