REPORT: Raiders to work out former Colts TE Erik Swoope

If there is one position on the Raiders that could use more veteran help, it’s at tight end. The Raiders lost Jared Cook in free agency to the New Orleans Saints and have failed to adequately replace his receiving ability this offseason.

However, Oakland is still looking around the bargain bin to replace him. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Raiders are working out former Colts and Saints’ tight end Erik Swoope on Tuesday,

Swoope is a former basketball player who signed with the Colts after the 2014 NFL draft. He’s appeared in just 24 career games, catching 23 passes for 384 yards and four touchdowns. If signed by the Raiders, look for him to compete for a roster spot with Derek Carrier and Darren Waller.
