REPORT: Raiders to release veteran OL Erik Magnuson

The Raiders have begun to trim their roster over the last few hours as the team released second-year defensive tackle P.J. Hall early on Monday morning. The moves didn’t stop as the team will reportedly release veteran center Erik Magnuson, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Magnuson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Franciso 49ers in 2017. He was on and of the roster for two years before he eventually signed with the Raiders in the middle of the 2019 season. The Raiders signed Magnuson to a futures contract on December 30, playing in just one career game for the Silver and Black.

Magnuson is 26 years old and will now be subject to waivers. He has experience playing both tackle and center, which is rare in the NFL. Considering the lack of depth at offensive line in the league, don’t be surprised if a few teams make a claim for the former Michigan tackle.
