REPORT: Raiders sign S Erik Harris to contract extension

With free agency just a few days away, the Oakland Raiders are starting to take care of some of their own free agents. This time, it was safety Erik Harris who received a deal from the Raiders.

According to Matt Schneidman of the Mercury News, the Raiders and Harris agreed to a two-year extension worth up to $6.5 million dollars. That deal also includes $2.5 million in guarantees over the next two seasons. Harris was initially given an original-round tender, but this new deal will keep him in Oakland for the next two seasons with a bump in salary.

Harris finished the 2018 season as Pro Football Focus’ 27th-ranked safety as he played 433 snaps. He recorded 49 total tackles and two interceptions last season as the team’s third safety. Expect him to play in a similar role next season.
