Report: Raiders reach agreement to play in Oakland in 2019

It appears the saga of where the Raiders will play football in 2019 will soon come to an end. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Raiders and the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority have reached an agreement for the team to return next season.

The #Raiders and the Coliseum Authority have reached an agreement for the team to remain in Oakland for the 2019 season at least and the sides are ironing out final nuances and details of the deal, sources say. It could be wrapped up and presented to the board as early as Friday.

Rapoport later followed up with a tweet that said the Raiders have a team option for 2020 if their new stadium in Las Vegas isn’t ready by then. Having the Raiders play in Oakland for potentially the next two seasons is a move that makes sense for both sides. As the deal becomes official, we will continue to update this story.
