Report: Raiders interested in trading for Jets WR Robby Anderson

Robby Anderson will be a hot name on the rumor mill as the NFL trade deadline approaches. According to The Athletic, the Oakland Raiders are among the teams interested in the Jets’ speedy wide receiver.

Sitting at 1-5, the Jets should consider all options at the trade deadline with the 2019 season quickly slipping away. Anderson is the Jets’ best trade chip considering his age (26), contract ($3 million) and skillset as an outside receiver. Teams inquired about Anderson during last year’s trade deadline, but the Jets decided to keep him for another season. This season he has only seven receptions for 266 yards and one touchdown.

The Raiders (3-3) have a shot at the playoffs this season in a downtrodden AFC and lack a true No. 1 wide receiver. After releasing Antonio Brown this offseason, their top receiving option right now is tight end Darren Waller, who has 44 receptions and 485 yards. Tyrell Williams was supposed to be their main wide receiver after letting Brown go, but he’s battled injuries all season.

What would it take to acquire Anderson? The Athletic’s Vic Tafur says the Raiders would likely only give up a third-round pick for the Jets wide receiver since they currently don’t own a pick in the second round and have two picks in the third. The Jets have remained coy about their intentions at the trade deadline but multiple reports indicate they’ll be sellers.
