Report: Raiders expected to explore trade for Bears QB Justin Fields

The Chicago Bears have an important decision to make at quarterback this offseason, where the expectation is they’ll move on from Justin Fields and draft a rookie with the first overall pick.

If that’s the case, Fields is expected to have plenty of interest from quarterback-needy teams not in a position to draft a top prospect. And it seems like a new name has emerged.

According to NFL expert Tony Pauline, the Las Vegas Raiders have “genuine interest” in Fields and are expected to explore a trade for him.

The Raiders are expected to move on from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason, and Pauline notes new general manager Tom Telesco is interested in landing a “big name” at quarterback.

Las Vegas isn’t in a position to draft one of the top quarterback prospects at 13th overall, but Fields, 24, is a young, exciting player they could build around. There are already pieces in place with wide receivers Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers.

The Raiders recently hired Luke Getsy as their new offensive coordinator, which means it would be a reunion for Fields and Getsy, who spent two years together in Chicago. It would also mean a smooth transition for Fields, who has two years of experience in Getsy’s offense.

Despite a previous report indicating the Pittsburgh Steelers were content to roll with Kenny Pickett in 2024, Pauline reports the Steelers are still monitoring Fields, along with the Atlanta Falcons.
