Report: QB Nick Foles back at Jags facility after his wife’s miscarriage

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles returned to organized team activities Thursday after his wife broke the unfortunate news that the couple had a miscarriage of their second child.

Foles was excused from Day 4 of OTAs for what the team classified as a personal reason at first as coach Doug Marrone hinted that his absence was family related. It’s not clear if the veteran will participate in Day 5’s OTA session, but with him being the competitor he is, one would think it would be hard to keep the veteran off the field Thursday.

Foles signed with the Jags this March as the team’s biggest signing of the free-agent period as his four-year $88 million contract with $50 million in guarantees totaled out to be the highest free-agent contract in team history. Now, after leading the Philadelphia Eagles in two postseason runs, he’ll look to get the Jags back in the playoffs after the had a disappointing 2018 season after nearly going to the Super Bowl in 2017.

Alongside the rest of the NFL community, we’ll continue to send our thoughts and prayers to Nick, his wife Tori and the Foles family, who Jacksonville had already embraced as one of their own upon his signing.
