Report: Preseason canceled, camp rosters expected to be 80 players

The NFLPA has informed players that preseason games won’t be played in 2020 and camp rosters are expected to be 80 players, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

The alterations are being made by the league in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Green Bay Packers were scheduled to play preseason games against the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants and Kansas City Chiefs during the month of August. All four exhibition games will be wiped from the schedule. The Packers are scheduled to play the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 on Sept. 13 at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Packers will also need to cut 10 players to trim the roster down from 90 players to 80. The team signed 15 undrafted free agents, who will likely be in the most danger of being cut.

The team is scheduled to have all players report to training camp by July 28. Rookies may still report at some point this week.
