Potential trading partners for Steelers WR Antonio Brown grows

You knew it wouldn’t take long for teams to call once Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was put on the trade block. Brown and the Steelers have made the mutual decision it would be better to part ways. And the number of potential trade partners seems to be growing.

According to Steelers reporter Daly Lolley, there have been at least five teams reach out to the Steelers about Brown’s availability. General manager Kevin Colbert echoed that sentiment at the combine Wednesday, saying interest is growing.

The more teams involved in this process, the better things will be for Pittsburgh. I’m sure Brown has some ideal landing spots but the Steelers don’t care. For them, it isn’t about giving Brown what he wants. It’s all about getting a return on dealing away one of the best players in the league.

Brown is due a roster bonus next month and the Steelers would likely want to try to get Brown dealt before this date to help soften the dead cap money Pittsburgh is going to have to eat in this deal.
