Report: Pelicans agree to two-year deal with guard Darius Miller

The New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly reached a two-year deal with guard Darius Miller on Wednesday morning, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski. Miller has spent his entire NBA career with the Pelicans.

Last season, Miller played in 69 games, averaging a career-high 8.2 points per game despite seeing his three-point percentage dip fairly significantly from 2017-18, down from 41.1 percent to 36.5 percent. Miller started 15 games, the most in his career, while also playing a career-high in minutes per game.

The move adds another shooter to the rotation for the Pelicans. Given the influx of new talent, both young and old, Miller certainly won’t be playing 25 minutes per game next season. Instead, he’ll slot into a role that likely suits him better as a spot player with a focused role on shooting.

After having limited spacing in the rotation in the wake of the Anthony Davis trade, the Pelicans now have a host of shooters between Redick, Miller and E’Twaun Moore.
