Report: Patriots WR N’Keal Harry expected to return to practice

The New England Patriots may get a reinforcement at the receiver position. Rookie and first-round pick N’Keal Harry is set to return to practice in Week 7, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Harry started the season on injured reserve. He is eligible to start practice this week, but cannot return to game action until Week 9 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Harry looked inconsistent during training camp, but had a nice preseason outing — with three snaps and two receptions for 36 yards — before aggravating an ankle issue, which landed him on injured reserve. The Patriots receiver group includes Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Phillip Dorsett, Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski. Edelman (chest), Gordon (knee) and Dorsett (hamstring) were listed on the injury report in Week 6.

The Patriots drafted Harry at 32nd overall in the 2019 draft — that’s the highest Bill Belichick has ever drafted a receiver. Harry showed he was a unique talent at Arizona State University, where he managed to eclipse 1,000 yards in his final two college seasons. In 2018, Harry had 73 catches, 1,088 yards and and nine touchdowns.
