Report: Patriots work out kicker Nick Rose

The New England Patriots worked out free agent kicker Nick Rose on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. New England also brought in defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes and defensive back Brian Allen for workouts.

Rose entered the NFL in 2016 and spent time with six teams, but only kicked field goals for the Washington Redskins and Los Angeles Chargers. He’s 11-for-14 on NFL field goals, and most recently played in the AAF — where he was 14-for-14.

The Patriots put Stephen Gostkowski on the injured reserve last week with a left hip injury and signed Mike Nugent to the 53-man roster — along with Younghoe Koo on the practice squad.

Nugent missed his first point after attempt on Sunday against the Washington Redskins, but he finished with three made PATs and two made field goals, with a long of 37 yards. New England seems to be keeping their options open after working out Rose.
