Report: Patriots work out 4 WRs amid news of Julian Edelman’s injury

The New England Patriots worked out four wide receivers on Monday, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. The group included former Tennesee Titans wide receiver Nick Williams, former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Justin Hunter, former Jacksonville Jaguars pass-catcher Papi White and former New Orleans Saints receiver Travin Dural.

This news comes after a report that receiver Julian Edelman will miss three weeks of training camp with a left thumb injury. With Edelman out of the mix, Phillip Dorsett is the only Patriots receiver who caught a pass from Brady in 2018. He struggled to emerge as the No. 2 receiver and lost his job to Josh Gordon, when the Patriots acquired him in a trade.

The Patriots receiver group includes Edelman, N’Keal Harry, Dorsett, Maurice Harris, Dontrelle Inman, Braxton Berrios, Jakobi Myers, Ryan Davis, Damoun Patterson and Gunner Olszewski.
