Report: Patriots to add Greg Schiano disciple Bob Fraser to coaching staff

The New England Patriots have hired Bob Fraser to the coaching staff, according to The Boston Herald’s Kevin Duffy.

The hiring of Fraser seems to be related the addition of defensive coordinator Greg Schiano. Fraser worked under Schiano as an assistant coach at Rutgers from 2006 to 2011, as the linebackers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2012 to 2013 and as a quality control coach at Ohio State from 2016 to 2018.

It’s unclear what position Fraser might take among the current coaching staff, as they have vacancies through out their assistant coaching ranks.

This offseason, New England saw departures from linebackers coach and de-facto defensive coordinator Brian Flores, receivers coach Chad O’Shea, cornerbacks coach Josh Boyer, defensive line coach Brendan Daly and assistant quarterbacks coach Jerry Schuplinski.
