Report: Patriots signing veteran OT Marshall Newhouse

The New England Patriots are signing veteran offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Marshall Newhouse, 6-foot-4, 330 pounds, is a 9-year veteran out of Texas Christian (the same alma mater as Marcus Cannon). Newhouse has played in 114 career regular-season games, with 71 starts for the Packers, Bengals, Giants, Raiders, Bills and Panthers. https://t.co/5FOeHrT9EX

Newhouse spent his nine-year career with five different teams and most recently had a stint with the Carolina Panthers. He’s started in 72 regular season games and will provide some depth at tackle, while the Patriots work through Marcus Cannon’s shoulder injury.

New England’s offensive line has been shaken up early this season after putting center David Andrews on injured reserve for the rest of the season and dealing with Cannon’s shoulder injury. Newhouse will give the Patriots some temporary depth while they figure out a permanent solution.
