Report: Patriots signing former Jets safety Terrance Brooks

The New England Patriots are signing safety Terrance Brooks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Brooks has been a core special teams player for the New York Jets over the last two seasons after spending his first three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.

During his five-year career, Brooks has tallied 43 tackles in 65 games. He has played some snaps on defense during his career, and even logged two interceptions in 2017. But in 2018, he played just 69 defensive snaps (six percent) and a team-high 392 special teams snaps (79 percent).

He is one of a handful of special teams standouts that Bill Belichick has added or retained this offseason, including running back Brandon Bolden.
