Report: Patriots retain exclusive-rights free agent Keionta Davis

The New England Patriots re-signed outside linebacker/edge rusher Keionta Davis, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Davis, 26, joined New England as an undrafted rookie in 2017 and has only played in six games since. He missed his entire rookie season on the non-football injury list, eventually finding out there was a bulging disc in his neck. He saw limited action in 2018 and then made his way back to the injured reserve list for the 2019 season.

The Patriots lost Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins so far due to free agency, with Elandon Roberts and Shilique Calhoun hitting the market as well. If healthy, Davis would provide a little more depth, but the Patriots have a ton of work to do in the linebacker department.
