Report: Patriots re-signing C David Andrews on four-year deal

The New England Patriots are re-signing center David Andrews to a four-year deal, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Andrews played five seasons for the Patriots, won two Super Bowls and he’s one of the most respected guys on the roster. The Patriots brought back Ted Karras on a one-year deal, who was set to take over the center position if Andrews chose another team in free agency. Now, the Patriots added to their interior depth to go along with the extremely skilled tackles they’ve accrued in Trent Brown and Isaiah Wynn.

The Patriots are in incredible shape going forward with the offensive line.

The terms of the contract haven’t surfaced yet, but it’s likely the Patriots were willing to spend a decent amount to retain him. Joe Thuney left this offseason for an $80 million deal and Andrews reportedly weighed offers from the Patriots for a day, but still chose to test free agency.
