Report: Patriots place former Georgia OL Isaiah Wynn on IR

The New England Patriots will be without their starting left tackle for at least eight weeks after placing Isaiah Wynn on the injured reserve, ESPN NFL analyst Field Yates reports.

After playing all 70 offensive snaps in the opening week, Wynn, a 2018 first round draft pick out of Georgia, left in the first quarter of last weekend’s game vs the Dolphins. On Monday, an MRI revealed Wynn has turf toe.

Since he has been put on the injured reserve, NFL rules dictate Wynn must miss the next eight weeks before being eligible to return.

This is a big blow for the 23 year old Wynn, who had gotten off to a strong start this season. In 2018, Wynn’s rookie year, he missed the entire season thanks to a torn achilles he suffered in a preseason game.
