New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung agreed to a one-year extension through 2021, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
Chung spent nine of his ten NFL seasons with the Patriots and has been a key contributor at the strong safety position. He played one season with the Philadelphia Eagles before heading back to New England.
He’s recorded 660 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 51 pass deflections and 11 interceptions in his time with New England. He played 15 regular season games last season and was on the field for 85 percent of the defensive team’s snaps.
During the third quarter of Super Bowl LIII, Chung suffered a broken arm –but he underwent successful surgery days after.
