Report: Patriots host QBs Jarrett Stidham, Clayton Thorson for pre-draft visits

Ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots are hosting Auburn’s Jarrett Stidham and Northwestern’s Clayton Thorson for visits, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Patriots have looked closely at some of the top quarterbacks in this year’s draft class. On top of speaking with Stidham and Thorson, the Patriots have hosted Duke quarterback Daniel Jones and West Virginia quarterback Will Grier.

The Patriots have three quarterbacks on the roster: Tom Brady, Brian Hoyer and Danny Etling. New England may be searching for an heir-apparent to Brady, who will turn 42 before the 2019 season begins.

Stidham completed his final college season with a 60.7 completion percentage, 2,794 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Thorson completed 6.1. percent of his passes for 3,183 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
