Report: Patriots have two representatives at Trevor Lawrence’s Pro Day

The 2021 NFL Draft will be packed with talent at the quarterback position, especially in the early rounds.

Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots need a quarterback desperately, but they’ll have to wait until pick No. 15 to make their selections — unless an unexpected trade occurs. Of those signal-callers, there’s none that stand out more than Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence, who will likely be the No. 1 overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Despite the extremely slim odds of snagging Lawrence, the Patriots still made an appearance at his Pro Day, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. The Patriots sent two representatives out of 31 total, stemming from 17 different teams.

Though the Patriots likely won’t get Lawrence, they still have options with Ohio State’s Justin Fields, BYU’s Zach Wilson or North Dakota State’s Trey Lance or Alabama’s Mac Jones. All formidable options, but the upside won’t be as convincing as the former Clemson product.

Whether or not this means something, probably not, but it’s still nice to see the Patriots linked to Lawrence in some capacity.
