Report: Patriots get 3rd straight day with no positive tests, and should play Chiefs on Monday

The New England Patriots did a round of COVID-19 tests which produced zero positive results on Monday, according to ESPN. It’s the third consecutive day for New England with zero positive tests after Cam Newton tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

New England had been set to play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at 4:25 p.m., but the NFL moved the game to Monday at 7:05 p.m. after both the Chiefs and the Patriots had a player test positive for COVID-19. For the Chiefs, practice squad Jordan Ta’amu ended up on the COVID-19 reserve list. Both teams must continue to have zero positive tests ahead of kickoff on Monday night, if the NFL is to proceed with the contest.

If the Patriots and Chiefs play, the game will still be on CBS and it will be a national telecast.
