Report: Patriots character coach Jack Easterby will leave team

New England Patriots character coach Jack Easterby will be leaving the team, according to The Boston Globe. Easterby has been with New England for six seasons as one of Belichick’s right-hand men.

Robert Kraft’s charges for solicitation of prostitution didn’t sit well with Easterby, according to The Globe. That played a role in his departure. According to The Globe, he will pursue other opportunities in football, and there should be plenty, with former Patriots coaches Matt Patricia and Brian Flores serving as head coaches in Detroit and Miami, respectively.

Easterby spoke during Super Bowl Opening Night in January about his role in New England.

“They call it team development or character coaching,” Easterby told Patriots Wire. “Just aim to be a servant. Aim to be the glue. Aim to help anything and everything to help our team gel together, be better men on and off the field and help us hopefully work together as a team to perform at the highest level.

“A lot of that is helping around he facility, serving the coaches. The little things. Whatever I can do to help them be prepared and free and coach their best Anything and everything we can do to help them get better.”
