The New England Patriots and kicker Stephen Gostkowski have agreed to a two-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The long negotiations have finally come to a close.
The two parties were having money issues earlier this month, according to NFL Network’s Mike Giardi. But both parties remained patient, and apparently, those issues have been settled.
Gostkowski finished his 2018 regular season hitting 27 of 52 field goal attempts. His 84.4% rate of success was tied for the lowest he’d had in six seasons. During the postseason, he was 5 of 6 on field goals and 10 of 10 on extra points. His lone miss came during Super Bowl LIII.
Gostkowski, 35, has spent 13 seasons with the Patriots. The kicker, a fourth round selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, has three Super Bowl wins and four Pro Bowl nods.
