Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes could return earlier than expected from a dislocated knee that he suffered in Week 7.
Per Ian Rapoport, ‘there’s an outside chance’ that the dynamic quarterback could play in Week 9 against the Vikings at Arrowhead Stadium.
That’s quite the risk for the Chiefs and it would still be a pretty big surprise if Mahomes did play given how good the Vikings’ defense is. One hit by Everson Griffen, Linval Joseph or Anthony Barr and it could be a season-ending injury for Mahomes.
It’s something to keep an eye on as the week progresses. If Mahomes can’t go, we’ll see Matt Moore get the start.
