Report: Panthers TE Greg Olsen will play vs. Cardinals today

The Carolina Panthers have a couple key players listed as questionable heading into today’s matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. According to Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, tight end Greg Olsen will play despite his lingering back issue.

Olsen has been a busy man so far this season, seeing nine targets in each of the first two games. He’s caught 10 of them, totaling 146 receiving yards. Arizona has allowed over 25 fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends, so Olsen should be a solid sleeper DFS play if you’re into that kind of thing.

As for the other questionable, Kawann Short has a shoulder injury and did not practice this week. Obviously if he can’t play it’s a significant blow, but if there’s one spot Carolina has enough depth, it’s defensive tackle. Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe have both played well thus far.

If Short is ruled out, expect former first-round pick Vernon Butler to make his 2019 debut. He was inactive Weeks 1-2.
