The Panthers have interviewed about a dozen candidates to succeed Marty Hurney as their general manager. Two of those names can be scratched off. The Texans have already hired former Patriots executive Nick Caserio, taking one potential GM off the board. Another candidate just took himself out of the race.
According to a report by Joel Erickson at the Indianapolis Star, Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds is withdrawing from consideration.

Dodds joined the Colts’ organization in 2017 after putting in 10 years with the Seahawks, where he worked in their scouting department.
Only Dodds could say why he decided to drop out, but it’s possible he’s not interested in splitting power with head coach Matt Rhule, who still has six years remaining on his contract.
In related news, the team reportedly interviewed two internal candidates for the open position this weekend: Director of Player Personnel Pat Stewart and capologist Samir Suleiman.
