Report: Packers WR Davante Adams unlikely to play Sunday at Cowboys

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers will likely be missing a key piece on offense in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.

NFL insider Adam Schefter stated on ESPN’s “Monday NFL Countdown” that receiver Davante Adams (toe) is unlikely to play on Sunday in Dallas.

It’s believed that Adams suffered a turf toe injury, though the Packers haven’t provided any other specifics. Adams suffered the injury in the fourth quarter against the Eagles last Thursday night.

Adams was having a productive night against Philadelphia before he was forced from the game. He caught 10 receptions on 15 targets for 180 yards, a career-high.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Friday that Adams’ injury isn’t believed to be serious and that if he misses time it “may not be much.” Adams did not practice on Monday, though coach Matt LaFleur called his injury “day-to-day.”

If Adams ultimately can’t go, the Packers will have to lean on Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison and Jimmy Graham in the passing game.
