Report: Packers WR Allen Lazard expected to play vs. Colts

His return might be limited, but the Green Bay Packers should get back one of their top receivers on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, receiver Allen Lazard is “expected to play” but will likely be on a “pitch count” during his first game since Week 3.

Lazard needed surgery to correct a core muscle injury and has missed the Packers’ last six games. He was activated from injured reserve on Tuesday and listed as questionable for Sunday after practicing in a limited capacity all week.

If Lazard can go, the Packers will have their top three receivers on the field together for the first time since Week 2.

During the Packers’ first three games, Lazard caught 13 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns. He was injured in a 37-30 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 3, a game in which he caught six passes for a career-high 146 yards.

An efficient No. 2 receiver, Lazard was also one of the team’s best run-blockers to start the 2020 season.

Although Lazard is expected to play, inactives for Sunday are due 90 minutes before kickoff. Lazard is one of three receivers listed as questionable, joining Equanimeous St. Brown and Darrius Shepherd.

The Packers’ injury report can be viewed here. Punter JK Scott (questionable, personal matter) and cornerback Kevin King (questionable, Achilles) were added on Saturday.
