Report: Packers cut running back Kapri Bibbs

The Green Bay Packers made their first roster move following the conclusion of the team’s offseason workout program.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Packers cut running back Kapri Bibbs, who was claimed off waivers from the Washington Redskins last December.

Bibbs played in two games for the Packers in 2018, carrying once for 2 yards and catching three passes for 13 yards. He scored four touchdowns over 10 games with the Redskins prior to being released.

The Packers will move forward with Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, rookie Dexter Williams and Tra Carson at running back.

It’s possible the Packers liked what they saw from sixth-round pick Dexter Williams during OTAs and minicamp and decided Bibbs had little chance to make the 53-man roster. Cutting him now gives Bibbs a chance to find another team before training camp.

The Packers finished the offseason workout program on Thursday. Training camp begins July 25.
