Report: Packers CB Kabion Ento has surgery for broken foot

Training camp is likely over for Green Bay Packers cornerback Kabion Ento.

According to Ryan Wood of PackersNews.com, Ento broke his foot during Tuesday’s practice at Lambeau Field and had surgery to correct the issue on Wednesday.

Per Wood, Ento’s timetable for a return from the injury is “unknown.”

As an undrafted free agent who made the transition from receiver to cornerback last year, Ento impressed during his rookie training camp and eventually spent the entire 2019 season on the Packers’ practice squad. He entered his second season in 2020 with a chance to make the roster as a backup cornerback.

His foot injury will complicate his path to the roster. Based on the severity, Ento could be placed on injured reserve.

With Ento out of the picture, the cornerback competition behind Jaire Alexander, Kevin King, Chandon Sullivan and Josh Jackson could come down to 2019 draft pick Ka’dar Hollman and undrafted free agent Stanford Samuels.
