Report: Ohio State vs Florida Atlantic was most viewed game in noon window

The Ohio State fanbase did it again.

As college football kicked off, fans were begging for Ohio State football, and it showed in the TV ratings. It’s especially telling given that the spread was -28 in favor of the Buckeyes, clearing showing that OSU were expected to fully dominate Florida Atlantic.

And, although they were up 21-0 in the seven minutes of the game, the Buckeyes didn’t help those that bet on them, winning 45-21. However, they certainly helped those that televised the event.

Per Fox Sports PR, the game had a 91% increase over a comparable game last season. That’s incredible.

No. 5 in the nation, Ohio State should have a dominant season behind five-star quarterback Justin Fields who totaled three touchdowns in under seven minutes.

At the same time, after that initial start, the Buckeyes slowed down and gave cause for concern. Overall, their next matchup, which should be just as highly rated, will be more telling.

Next week the Buckeyes will be home and take on former coach Luke Fickell, who is now leading the charge for the Cincinnati Bearcats, a team looking to build on a ten-win season a year ago.
