Glenn Murray is reportedly set to stay put at Brighton & Hove Albion this month, having been on Nottingham Forest’s striker shortlist.
A number of clubs were said to be interested in the 36-year-old, with the Reds understood to have been one of them.
Murray has struggled for regular game time with the Seagulls this season, making 16 appearances and scoring one goal.
But according to The Athletic, he is “unlikely to leave” before the January transfer window closes at 11pm tomorrow.
The report adds: “Brighton target man Glenn Murray is poised to see out his contract as part of the club’s fight to avoid relegation.”
Forest have already strengthened their attacking ranks, with Nuno da Costa having yesterday made the move from Strasbourg, while the club are said to be set to recall fellow forward Tyler Walker from his loan spell at Lincoln City.
Winger Adama Diakhaby became the Reds’ first new addition of the winter window last week, when he joined on loan from Huddersfield Town.
Albion boss Graham Potter had previously dismissed speculation linking Murray with a switch to the City Ground, and said he would leave it up to the player to make the final decision on his future.
