It’s official—Odell Beckham Jr. has found his next NFL home.
After a lengthy rehab period following an ACL tear in Super Bowl LVI, the veteran wide receiver has signed with the Ravens, he confirmed on Instagram. The move ends more than a year of speculation about Beckham’s landing destination after the three-time Pro Bowler sat out the entirety of the 2022 season before exploring his potential options in free agency this spring.
The deal is reportedly a one-year contract worth up to $18 million, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Rumors spread like wildfire last season as Beckham weighed his choices, eventually revealing in November that he had his eyes set on joining the Bills, Packers, Cowboys or Giants—without necessarily ruling out any other club. Beckham even visited Buffalo, Dallas and New York in early December.
However, no deal ever came to fruition as the playoffs came and went, as teams expressed hesitation about Beckham’s health and recovery from the serious knee injury. The decision allowed the 30-year-old receiver to focus on the 2023 free agency period, which also opened up the number of interested suitors.
Beckham impressed with his showing at a workout in early March, which was reportedly attended by a dozen teams, including Baltimore. He then showed up to the annual league owners meetings in Arizona to meet with a handful of clubs and was even seen speaking publicly to franchise leaders.
His appearance at the meetings paved the way for him to reportedly strike a deal with the Ravens for the upcoming year.
Throughout his 96-game career, Beckham has tallied 531 receptions, 7,367 yards and 56 touchdowns. He spent the majority of his career with the Giants from 2014 to ’18 before spending two years and 13 games with the Browns. During the ’21 campaign, Beckham was sent to the Rams, where he proved to be a valuable postseason contributor and won a Super Bowl.
Baltimore finished the 2022 season 10–7 and lost to the Bengals in an AFC wild card game. Beckham joins Mark Andrews, Rashod Bateman and Nelson Agholor as one of the team’s projected top pass-catchers while he searches to get his career back on track in ’23.
