Report: No hard deadline on Brown trade, but ‘several teams’ still interested

Pittsburgh Steelers’ writer Gerry Dulac is reporting the Steelers are still working on a trade for wide receiver Antonio Brown but there is now Friday deadline as was earlier reported.

ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter had originally said the plan was to get a trade done by Friday. This seems to no longer be the case. There are a number of factors that could have affected this change. Perhaps the Steelers used the deadline to drum up additional interest and the ploy failed.

But most likely the answer is while there are plenty of teams who are willing to trade for Brown, the offers don’t constitute the value the Steelers want. General manager Kevin Colbert has said more than once this offseason Pittsburgh will not trade Brown if they don’t get value for him.
