Report: Nick Foles pays the Eagles $2M buyout payment via cashiers check

Only Nick Foles truly knows how bad he wants to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, but if Wednesday morning was any indication, then the former Super Bowl MVP wants his own show in the worst way. According to Tim McManus of ESPN.com, Foles paid the Eagles the $2 million required to become a free agent, and he did it with a cashier’s check, which was a part of the agreement.

Foles had to pay the $2 million to the Eagles via cashier’s check by Feb. 16, which would be 25 days prior to the start of the new league year. Foles quick resolution eliminated any melodrama or rumors about his feelings.

If the Eagles choose to franchise Foles, it’ll be at the cost of around $25 million, and the team will still have to find a willing trade partner for Foles or be forced to release him.
