Report: Nick Foles expected to sign with Jacksonville Jaguars

It appears as if Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl hero Nick Foles will trade being a bird for a big cat, according to a report.

Philly.com is saying the quarterback who led the Eagles to victory in Super Bowl LII over the New England Patriots will sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars once NFL free agency opens on March 13.

A market for Nick Foles outside of Jacksonville has not developed, and though nothing is certain until it is official, the Jaguars absolutely expect to sign Foles, sources told Philly. com. They have been working on the structure of a contract.

Foles famously replaced an injured Carson Wentz in 2017 and led the Eagles on a stirring run that concluded with the upset of the Patriots.

He came off the bench again in 2018 when Wentz was hurt, again. Foles led the Eagles on what felt like could be another magical run. They scrambled to make the playoffs and defeated the Chicago Bears in a Wild-Card game.

The run ended when a Foles pass to Alshon Jeffrey was missed by the receiver and was picked off and the Eagles fell to the New Orleans Saints, 20-14.

The Jaguars struggled mightily in 2018 after a strong playoff run following the 2017 season. They counted on Blake Bortles to deliver, but he did not live up to hopes.

Foles would be the answer to their QB issues … they hope.
