Report: New England Patriots are signing Cam Newton

The question of where Cam Newton will land has been answered. The former Heisman winner and No. 1 overall pick of the Carolina Panthers is signing with the New England Patriots, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

The signing would give Newton a chance to compete for the starting job with Jarrett Stidham. It has been left open by the exit of Tom Brady to Tampa Bay.
